My random freezing problems have been solved.
Here is what I did to fix the problem
1. Ran memtest86+ through GRUB and it froze on tests for 1st pass.

I am running Debian Squeeze/Testing with the latest packages in that repo.
I don't think Evolution is a problem here. The freeze happens even when I am not running Evolution and/or kill all...
This is a truely well know problem experianced by me an others. It seems to be a kernel/xorg bug

My testing with a combination of:
Display Manager => GDM, KDM (haven't tried XDM)
Desktop => XFCE, TWM, Gnome, KDE
Kernel => 2.6.32.* to 2.6.37.*
THE FREEZE still happens in sooner or later in...
First the bad news
I have tried 2.6.37 RC2 from Ubuntu on Debian Testing/Squeeze but the desktop proves slower than 2.6.36 and still freezes.

Following up from my post, so far Debian Squeeze has been running ok since the weekend and I have not been experiancing as regular and lively crashes as before.
I am investigating a bit more on...
Its REISUB ie. BUSIER spelt backwards.
