disable transparent titlebar

how do i keep the title bar of background windows from becoming transparent? ive got advanced desktop effects settings

I've also had this problem ever since I installed compiz from git. Can't work it out

I have been using a gtk theme, if I switch to emerald everything works fine.
this screenshot illustrates the problem, notice the firefox and ccsm title bars in particular.
